Dental Visit 2022

This morning we had a special visit from a dentist! Impact Mobile Dental Service came in to educate the children about what our teeth are used for, including eating, talking and smiling. We discussed what healthy foods are good for our teeth and what sugary foods are bad for our teeth.
We got introduced to some dentist tools such as a little mirror to help count our teeth, and a ‘tooth explorer’ which our dentist liked to call a ‘tooth tickler’. She went around and used the tooth tickler on everyone’s fingernails so they could see what it might feel like on their teeth later.
The dentist told us we should brush our teeth for 2 minutes, 2 times a day and then showed us how to use big circles with our tooth brushes to do so.
After this presentation we all got to meet Miss Pearl! A giant tooth who let the children practice their brushing techniques.
This presentation and meeting Miss Pearl eased a lot of anxiety around going to the dentist! Afterwards, some of the children got to have a turn of sitting in the special dentist chair and have their teeth counted and cleaned.
