The Joey & Possum Room is catered for children aged 6 weeks to 2 years. This room averages four infants and five toddlers a day. 

Our small group allows educators to be responsive to the individual and varying needs of each child. Our Educators are highly focused on introducing children to viable self-help skills and nurturing the emotional development of each child within this group.

Activities

Our on-going children’s development program offers educational and recreational programs which are designed to optimise the creativity, mental and physical advancement of your child. Self expression is encouraged through a wide variety of indoor and outdoor activities, such as music, arts and crafts. Children’s interests are supported and encouraged through individual and group stimuli, all in the name of fun!

Meals

Our service offers a nutritiously appropriate menu with opportunities for children to try new, wholesome foods.

We offer breakfast, morning tea, afternoon tea and a late snack. Infants also have lunch provided for them and are supported as they learn to navigate new textures and flavours.

Education

Our service offers a child-led program centred around each child’s ideas, interests, culture, strengths, knowledge and abilities.

Our Educator’s apply intentional teaching strategies to scaffold every child’s learning and development through holistic approaches and shared observation.

Children are encouraged to progress developmentally though hands on approaches to learning, whilst every child is included to participate in the Educational Program.

Parents are able to view their child’s progress in the program through our online app which is updated daily.

What are the Centres operating hours?

The Centre is open from 7:00am to 6:00pm Monday to Friday.

What do I need to bring?

A labelled bag including your child’s lunch; cot-sized bed sheets; water bottle; pillow; spare clothes and a hat. 

Is it affordable?

Our daily fees are set competitively relative to other childcare centres in the Hills area.

The Centre is registered to provide Child Care Subsidy (CCS) assistance to families. CCS is means tested and is available to eligible families..

Since joining The Hills Little Learners in 2016, Debbie has brought warmth, experience, and a whole lot of heart to our team. As a passionate early childhood educator, she works part-time across three days each week, and has had the joy of nurturing children of all age groups during her time with us.

Debbie’s dedication to creating safe, engaging, and inspiring learning environments shines through in everything she does. Her love for early education is truly personal—she’s even had her own grandchildren come through our centre! Whether she’s setting up a sensory play activity or helping little ones build confidence and friendships, Debbie’s commitment to child safety, wellbeing, and learning is second to none.
